Military satellites over Somalia

On 21 October 2026, working military satellites of 19 countries were predicted to pass over the places in Somalia where UCDP recorded fighting this year: 494 passes by 388 satellites. China's made the most: 258 passes by 193 satellites. A country's satellites over itself are not counted.

UCDP recorded 2,586 deaths (best estimate) in 250 events of state-based armed conflict in Somalia between 2 January 2026 and 1 September 2026.
