Military satellites over South Sudan

On 21 October 2026, working military satellites of 13 countries were predicted to pass over the places in South Sudan where UCDP recorded fighting this year: 160 passes by 147 satellites. China's made the most: 78 passes by 69 satellites. A country's satellites over itself are not counted.

UCDP recorded 123 deaths (best estimate) in 10 events of state-based armed conflict in South Sudan between 2 January 2026 and 5 July 2026.
